Accessibility

We want as many people as possible to be able to use rebeauty. That includes people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, zooming in, or preferring less movement on screen.

What we have done

The site works without a mouse. Everything reachable by clicking is reachable by tab.
Focus is visible, so you can see where you are.
Every form field has a real label, not just placeholder text.
Headings follow a logical order, so a screen reader can navigate the page structure.
Images that carry meaning have alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off, including the counting statistic on the homepage.
Text can be zoomed without the layout breaking.

What we have not done

We have not had the site independently audited, so we are not claiming it meets WCAG 2.2 AA. We have built to those principles and tested as we went, but that is not the same thing, and we would rather be accurate than reassuring.

We know of some areas we want to improve: colour contrast on a small number of secondary labels, and the behaviour of the full-screen menu with a screen reader.

The app

The rebeauty app is still being built. Accessibility is part of how we are building it rather than something to add later, and we will publish a statement for the app before it launches.
